Senior Data Scientist - Remote

Our Data Research team applies machine learning, including LLMs, to Akamai security products. We not only leverage the massive amount of Akamai network traffic data to provide top-tier threat intelligence for customers but also apply ML/AI on security products directly as value differentiators.

Help us make the Internet a safer place

You'll be helping us bring ML projects from the research phase to the end where the model is in production serving customers. You'll identify attacks/threats from network data and identify the attacks or mitigate these threats for our customers. You will help us protect millions of people each day.

In this role you will be:

• Modeling, designing, implementing, production, and operating machine learning models, including Large Language Models, and pipelines at scale.
• Applying analytical and math/statistics skills to understand the data, to ensure model results are coherent and reliable.
• Solving complex real-world business problems by working closely with various stakeholders including data scientists, and product managers.
• Providing high-quality support to all researchers in the lab and our user community.
• Collaborating work in multiple project team environments.
• Presenting project proposals or results to stakeholders.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 3+ years of experience with ML, DL, large language model inference and fine-tuning techniques, vector DB, and RAG.
• Experience in designing ML pipelines, including model versioning, model deployment, model testing, and monitoring.
• Experience with Software engineering fundamentals, including coding, testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and deployment.
• Experience in writing robust API interfaces with design principles applied in languages including Python and Scala.
• Experience in using SQL/NoSQL databases, distributed data processing, event messaging, containers, and ML automation.
• Be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Experience with Google Cloud (or other public cloud).
