The Role

Your Role and Responsibilities :

  • Provides the underlying Mainframe operating system platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming support on which applications are developed and/or deployed.
  • Expertise is required in many environments which may include operating systems, application development platforms, networking, packaged software, etc. Guides functional objectives on technologies.   
  • Advises other professionals.
  • Effectively utilizes group dynamics.  
  • Recognizes complex problems related to functional objectives and drives solutions to problems.
  • Leads RCA discussions for their products.
  • Analyzes situations and implements solutions, or develops new system elements, procedures or processes.
  • Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.
  • Provides ongoing technical /operational guidance to lead professional work teams, conducts special projects, or manage department(s) (national or international.
  • Defines and decides objectives within specified business concept or project and may have responsibility for tools and assigned resources.
  • Utilizes expertise to directly influence people outside department or function.
  • Regularly participates in overall functional program planning.
  • Activities are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, and impact project costs or expenses.
  • Problem analysis and determination of Db2 related issues

Who You Are

Required Professional and Technical Expertise :

  • Mainframe Adabas support and good communication skills.
  • Installation and support of Software AG (SAG) products, such as ADABAS and Natural.OR
  • Installation, maintenance and configuration of Db2 stand-alone and data sharing systems.
  • Maintain Db2 related tools from various vendors (IBM, BMC, Broadcom)

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise :
•Regular patching and upgrades of SAG products .
•Ongoing incident and ticket handling .
•Providing insights into new products and features and presenting to customers .
•Creating documentation -Perform database administration.
