Session: Bring the harmony with Domain-driven design (DDD)

Building a big enterprise project can be quite a challenge, especially when the wrong direction has been taken from the very beginning. The reasons why projects might fail can be various. Amongst the most frequent ones lack of communication and engineers failing to understand how problems need to be solved can be listed. As a result - the written code is difficult to adjust and refactor, tasks are not finished on time and in general the code does not reflect what it was meant to.

In “Domain Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software” written by Eric Evans author introduced different techniques to help focus more on the core model of the problem. This approach helps to tackle complex software projects to deliver an end-product that helps organisations to meet their goals.

If you are looking for approach which will help to tackle complexity during development software projects - welcome to join.

Bio: Elena Melashchenko

My name is Elena. I come from Ukraine but I have been living in Berlin for almost 5 years now. I’ve been working as a Software Engineer for 8 years already and two years ago, after joining Moonfare - one of the fastestest growing FinTech StartUps in Berlin, I had been promoted to the position of a Team Leader.

Looking back at my experience,  I can say that I was lucky enough to have really wonderful leaders on my way here, and having had great role models, I am trying to develop similar qualities in myself these days and help other developers to grow on a career ladder as specialists and learn how to solve the problems that appear on their way.

While helping my team to achieve its goals, I am also placing a great importance on looking for the best approaches that would allow us as specialists to build a high quality product, and will help us meet the needs of the business.
