Erica Thornton Bio
A fourth-generation electrical engineer, Erica has showcased her talent and knowledge in the tech industry for almost 30 years, with experience in software, hardware and firmware qualification, innovation and testing across multiple industries including gaming and robotics. As a Senior Advanced Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Light & Wonder, she is the technical expert on peripheral hardware and firmware qualification and support, including new slot cabinet qualification, new low-cost components verification and various second sourced component qualification. Erica is also instrumental in supporting and resolving state regulator, hardware field and independent testing lab issues.Erica has been with Light & Wonder for close to 20 years, steadily progressing through the engineering department with four promotions. Prior to L&W, she worked at US Robotics / 3COM Inc. as a test / component engineer working on the vintage Palm Pilot, as well as stints at UL Laboratories and Microsoft. She holds an Associates of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from DeVry University.
