"Maria Weaver is the chief people officer for Niantic, the world’s leading augmented reality (AR) company and creator of mobile, AR, location-based games such as Pokémon Go. Weaver is responsible for scaling the people function and company, ensuring Niantics are safe and supported during COVID, and cultivating a diverse and inclusive environment. Weaver most recently was the chief people officer of Funding Circle and oversaw the global people and organizational strategy to enable the company to grow its business, enhance the employee experience, and take the company public. Prior to Funding Circle, she was the head of HR for Twitter’s global revenue organization. Sher also held various leadership positions with Apollo Lightspeed, an education tech start-up. Prior to that she was with Visa Inc. and began her career as a consultant with Andersen Consulting, now Accenture. Weaver holds a political science degree from the University of California, BerkeleyMaria Weaver has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Certificate in Corporate Board Governance from UCLA Anderson School of Management."
