Sreya Sukhavasi Bio (LinkedIn)
Sreya came to the United States in 2023 to pursue her Master’s in Computer Science. While studying, she worked part-time as a wellness supervisor and as a coding and research aide to Nobel Laureate Dr. Leland Hartwell, experiences that shaped her work ethic and curiosity for learning. Her journey into tech wasn’t easy. Like many international students, she faced uncertainty, rejection, and the pressure of finding a role in a tough job market. What kept her going were the people she met on LinkedIn, professionals who generously offered guidance, reviewed her resume, and reminded her she wasn’t alone.
To stay motivated, Sreya began sharing what she was learning from interview preparation to coding projects. What started as personal reflections soon grew into a supportive community of over 11,000 people. After joining Nordstrom as a Software Engineer, she noticed how few resources existed for early-career engineers compared to those in senior or leadership roles.
To bridge that gap, she continues to share honest stories, lessons, and practical guidance for students and recent graduates. Through her writing and mentorship, Sreya hopes to make tech more approachable and inclusive, showing that persistence, curiosity, and community can turn even the toughest beginnings into meaningful growth.
