Session: Future-focused Options and technology hacks to be self-reliant

Looking at the technology growth and world trends over the past decade, we can clearly see the massive progress we have made in terms of new technology and its applications in our everyday lives as well as in business/ organizations. This proposed topic is to prepare the audience to see how they can leverage and apply future technology inventions in their business, academics and community. We will be looking at some hacks and future technology predictions they can harness to be self-reliant, innovative and problem solvers.

Bio

Amanda Obidike is a multi-award winning social innovator, technologist and scientist. She is the Founding Curator of the WEF Global Shapers, Ozubulu Hub and Executive Director of STEMi Makers Africa. In this role, she provides leadership, strategy management and oversees the design and implementation of sustainable Community projects and STEM Education across 19 Sub-Saharan countries by preparing the next generation of Africans with STEM lucrative skills for Africa's workforce.

Forbes Science marked her as the African changing the culture fabric for young talents to embrace opportunities in STEM. In addition to STEM, Amanda addresses thematic topics on Social Innovation, Data Science, Youth Development, Entrepreneurship and reform in Education Curriculum.

In 2020, she was given the Global Award for Achievement by TechWomen 100, Top 5 Female Innovators in Africa by AfricaTech; Rising Star Award Winner of DITA Microsoft; Female Innovator and Executive of the Year: Gold Stevie Award, Technology Rising Star Award by WOC; Michigan, Positive Impact Award of Athena40: The World Most Innovative Women, 2020; 100 Leading Ladies in Africa, and Role Model Finalist in Booking.com Technology Playmakers Awards, for successfully championing diversity in technology and innovation for the girl child.
She is a fellow of the MIT Global Community Bio, Yunus & Youth Fellowship; Brazil, Goldman Sachs, Falling Walls Berlin Engage, Michael Jordan Youth Fellowship, Nigeria Global Affairs Council, Youth Center for Research, SIP LEAP Africa, Kectil and YALI RLC.
She serves as a Mentor in the New York Academy of Science, Cherie Blair Foundation, the 1million Women in Tech, Global thinkers for Women where she lends her voice, knowledge, and serves as a role model to girls in Africa.
Currently serves on the Leadership Team of the 500 Women Scientists, USA and Trustee Board of the MAI Foundation.
