Session: Turning ‘You Can’t’ into Global Leadership: A Story of Resilience in Tech
When I was told, “Girls like you don’t get appointed,” it wasn’t just a sentence — it was a challenge.
In this talk, I share how a young woman from Cairo, once told she had no future, went on to lead global tech initiatives, represent her country on international stages, and build platforms that empower women across continents.
This session is not about success — it’s about resilience. It's about turning rejection into redirection, transforming local challenges into global leadership opportunities, and proving that women in tech from emerging regions are not just participants — they are architects of the future.
Through real stories from building cross-border communities like She Inspires Egypt and representing Egypt as a TechWomen Emerging Leader, this talk highlights practical strategies to lead with purpose, navigate bias, and build impact even when the world says you can't.
Bio
Amany Dyab is not just a Geospatial Data Engineer — she is one of the youngest tech leaders reshaping what global leadership looks like for women from emerging regions. Representing Egypt as a TechWomen 2025 Emerging Leader out of 6,000+ applicants, she turns every “you can’t” into a stage for impact.
Founder of She Inspires Egypt, a movement that united 33 speakers and hundreds of women across multiple cities in just 15 days, Amany builds communities where others see barriers. Her work spans from leading data innovation at HERE Technologies to speaking at international tech events and designing mentorship platforms for women in tech across Africa, the Middle East, and the U.S.
Her story is proof that leadership is not granted — it is built, relentlessly, by those who refuse to wait for permission.
