Session: Leading Girls In the Age of Digital Revolution

Education is an important aspect of our life, but most educational institutions only focus on the rote-based learning method and students who adapt to it are the only ones who seem "successful". While this might be rewarding at a young age, when these students step into the professional world they are the ones who lack the skill set required to excel in the 21st century. Due to the lack of capacity-building programs in the tech domain for girls, there is a staggering gender gap in the field that needs to be addressed. Join me as I share how I found my hidden inner potential and now playing a part to impact the lives of others in my community through my edtech startup called Global Creative Hub.

Key Takeaways

  • People who obtain the lifelong learning model are the ones who succeed in life.
  • The tech space needs more women, lets educate the younger generation today so that they can be future leaders of tomorrow.
  • In the 21st century, being digitally literate is very crucial to accelerate. So it is high time that we start educating the future generation.
  • Memorisation can only take you so far, understanding takes you places.

Bio

Amna Habiba is a 15-year-old Pakistani, founder of Global Creative Hub, international speaker, STEM enthusiast, and an advocate for girls' education and mental health. She received the Young Achiever Award at the age of 10 for being the first Pakistani to take part in a digital exchange. When COVID struck her home country, she explored e-learning and completed more than 80 courses and 40 guided projects in 6 months in various fields. To give back to her community she launched a social development initiative that aims to make every Pakistani girl digitally literate, namely Global Creative Hub.

Not only this, but she also completed two internships & a fellowship at the age of 14. She dreams of becoming a pediatrician and through various programs throughout lockdown stemmed a combined interest in AI and healthcare, which led her to take part of Pakistan's most prestigious STEM School, where she researched on using AI to cure breast.
She believes that mental health is just as important as physical health, which is why she is currently developing a mental health app for teens (to be released in 2022), She is also the youngest Pakistani to host an international AI hackathon in her country, as part of her mission to support girls' learning. She takes part in STEM camps, talks on various global platforms, advocates for what matters to her, and hopes to make an impact through her work around the UN SDGs.
