Session: How is a digital transformation different from a digital change

In this talk, I will explore the crucial distinction between digital change and digital transformation. While many organizations are caught up in the allure of digitizing existing processes – making them faster, cheaper, and more efficient – they often miss the essence of true transformation. This presentation will dive deep into the fundamental differences between simply updating what we already do with digital tools (digital change) and genuinely revolutionizing the way we conduct business (digital transformation). By drawing on real-life examples and real-world case studies, I will uncover why true transformation is essential for staying ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape and how it can protect against market disruptions. This session is not just about leveraging new technologies, but about reimagining and reinventing business models for a digital-first future.

Key Takeaways

  • Understanding the Difference: Gain a clear understanding of the fundamental differences between digital change and digital transformation, and why recognizing this distinction is critical for organizational success.
  • Strategies for True Transformation: Learn effective strategies for moving beyond mere digitization to achieve genuine digital transformation, including the importance of innovation and rethinking business models.
  • Navigating Market Disruption: Discover how true digital transformation, as opposed to superficial digital change, can equip organizations to not only survive but thrive amidst market disruptions and competitive pressures.
