Session: Happiness at work: How people metrics guide strategic HR leadership in the future of work

In today’s rapidly evolving workplace, employee experience isn’t a “nice-to-have.” It's a strategic advantage. Yet too many organizations rely on intuition instead of data when making decisions about hybrid work models, culture, retention, and performance. In this session, Caitlin Kamm, Head of People at Envoy, will share how pioneering people leaders can operationalize happiness and well-being metrics to drive business outcomes. Her legal training– rooted in evidence, compliance, and structured analysis – allows her to approach soft skills with hard data. Caitlin will demonstrate how an attorney’s rigor can be applied to people operations, transforming abstract concepts like "morale" into concrete, defensible policies that mitigate risk and drive engagement

You’ll learn how Envoy partnered across functions to define key experience indicators, translate qualitative insights into actionable strategies, and influence organizational decisions around return-to-office, hybrid policy, and long-term culture design. Attendees will gain practical frameworks to measure what matters, communicate results to executives, and lead with empathy and evidence in a time of digital transformation and hybrid work.

Key Takeaways

  • Choose the Right Metrics: Beyond Engagement Surveys Understand which employee experience data points (e.g., sentiment trends, manager effectiveness scores, well-being indicators) genuinely predict retention, productivity, and culture health, and how to op
  • Data-Driven Decision Framework for the Future of Work Learn how to translate people insights into organizational strategy: from shaping hybrid work policies and office utilization plans to informing leadership on wellbeing investments and DE&I initiatives
  • Lead with Empathy and Influence Upwards Discover how to build trust with both employees and executives — using quantitative and qualitative evidence — so that HR decisions are seen as strategic business decisions, not just operational responses
