Session: Building Executive Presence to Advance in Leadership
Executive presence is the special sauce you must add to your knowledge and skills to achieve leadership success. To be an inspiration to others, you must not only achieve knowledge and experience, but successfully convey strength and credibility to multiple audiences. This workshop offers on-the-spot training using research-based insights from a PhD researcher and experienced speaker. You will leave this session with a number of communication behaviors you can practice to elevate your executive presence.
Bio
Dr. Carey Hardin is Associate Professor of media and communication at Miami University in Ohio and adjunct associate professor of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Notre Dame. She holds a Ph.D. in communication and cultural studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as a B.A. in mathematics. Her research centers on intersections of culture, economy, and technology. Carey has trained entrepreneurs, data scientists, public figures, and business executives in effective presentations, conflict communication, team building, and communicating across socio-cultural divides. Carey specializes in data storytelling, audience analysis, leadership communication, and alliance building.
