Why aren't there more women working in cybersecurity?

We’re taking this opportunity to chat about the challenges that women face in the #cybersecurity industry, and celebrate the journeys some of us have taken to get here.

When it comes to cybersecurity–an industry desperate for experts and for talent–it’s even more important to empower those who face challenges when entering or rising in the industry. Fostering diversity in cybersecurity allows us to encounter new ideas, reach new markets, and make better decisions.

So let’s talk about it!

Key Takeaways

  • Successes of women in cybersecurity.
  • Future plans for women in cybersecurity.

Bio

Bronwen Hudson: I'm a driven, positive thinker, writer and content creator with a passion for inclusion and accessibility. I love sharing stories, and making complex topics accessible to a broad audience.

Crystal Poenisch: Product Marketing leader with 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, and public speaking. I drive an aggressively human approach to product and brand storytelling. I've learned that marketing isn’t magic; it’s a human connection at scale. It’s the feeling you get when you share a spark of genuine joy and mutual learning with another person.

Laura Kenner: Knowledgeable in cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, threat management and vulnerability assessment, security controls, identity and access management, cloud fundamentals, as well as proven network administration skills. Special interest in zero-trust and SASE architectures.
