Session: Real-World DEI: Success Through a Tapestry of People, Talents, Experiences, and Perspectives
More than another dry discussion of DEI, this session explores the nexus of gender, race, cognitive variations, culture, perspectives, and ideas. It shapes company cultures, brands, teams, work, aspirations, and individuals. Elle Chan is the founder and CEO of TRADEMARK, a premier corporate events company whose clients include leading brands across tech and biotech. With TRADEMARK and her 30-year career as a backdrop, Elle will take the audience on an exploration of how women can drive critical agendas, rewrite norms, and create a seat at the table for everyone while achieving professional success.
TRADEMARK clients host events to promote their brands and products to various customers, communities, cultures, and industries, all with differing perspectives, ideas, and needs. Diversity is more than what appears on the outside. Successful events align with the people in both the company and the customer community. And, more than ever before, those communities represent new ideas and opportunities. Diversity is also a rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives that can redefine how information is packaged, delivered, demonstrated, and carried forward.
Elle will share strategies for weaving diverse values into professional endeavors and company culture–regardless of industry. She’ll discuss how to:
Find and work with the best people by prioritizing talent, experience, drive, and fit, regardless of gender, lifestyle, race, or background.
Create a fabric of ideas, strategies, and tactics that align with company goals, represent customer communities, and deliver results everyone can identify with.
Build a network of diverse employees, contractors, partners, and suppliers to enrich strategies and achieve the most remarkable results.
Prioritize inclusion with training and internship programs that give underrepresented groups the hands-on experience they need to enter exciting careers in tech and other industries.
TRADEMARK is a certified, Woman and Minority-Owned business. In press interviews, Elle said, “Being one of the few Asian-American female founders in the events space, I constantly strive to open doors and usher diverse hiring into the industry. Every link in the events supply chain has talented leaders from incredibly diverse backgrounds and experiences. The more we embrace this diversity, the more we align with today’s world, gain access to new perspectives and insights, and create richer and more impactful events.”
This session will provide attendees with a blueprint for affecting change – moving beyond DEI hypotheticals to tangible and valuable actions for today’s wildly diverse business climate.
