Session: Field Notes on Building Non-Extractive Consumer AI: Trust + Early Validation
From day one, we've been building around a clear goal: support human flourishing through the relationships that shape daily life. That means treating trust and ethics as part of the product, not a layer we add later. Alongside design and engineering, we’ve brought various experts into the building process early, and in a way that's compatible with startup pace.
In this session, I’ll share quick notes from the field: the principles we’ve operationalized and the parameters we’ve kept an eye on as we iterate. I’ll also walk through how we’re approaching early external validation in a lightweight way, without slowing development.
This is less a “how-to” and more a field note on what it takes to innovate for whole humans while moving with startup velocity.

Erin Dahl is the Founder of Co Labs, a relational intelligence consumer AI company. We're currently developing our first tool: an app that nurtures the human relationships that shape daily life. It's privacy-aware and consent-led, with a focus on outcomes beyond the screen, like clearer understanding, healthier interaction patterns, and deeper real-world connection. Erin works at the intersection of product, AI behavior, and trust, with an emphasis on building systems that are useful without being extractive.
Prior to Co Labs, Erin founded a Paris-based brand strategy and communications agency and has worked with clients like LVMH, Accor, Sanofi, L'Oréal, Audemars Piguet.
