Session: Whatever you do, do it with all your ❤️ – it's worth it

As one of the fastest-growing industries, tech offers excellent working conditions and opportunities for professional development. This fact encourages an increasing number of women to retrain to enter this sector, which is promising.

Yet when planning their career change, they often bump up against opinions that may hold them back. Myths about working in IT seem to be passed on without much thought. That’s why CAST AI’s three tech devotees would like to debunk some of such limiting beliefs – and hopefully inspire you to join this exciting sector.

Premium Members, Ticket Holders, Speakers and recognized Global Ambassadors can watch this content once logged in.

Key Takeaways

  • The sector is wide enough to let you do what you love and still enjoy all the perks of one of the most dynamically developing industries – excellent working conditions, flexible hours, exciting projects, talented workmates, etc.
  • There are many different career paths: from technical to business, sales, marketing, design, and organizational management.
  • Soft and creative skills are necessary to thrive in a tech career, but so are lifelong learning, flexibility, and openness.
  • Your age and gender are FAR less important than your talent and willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Your skills and experiences acquired in other jobs are probably enough to get a foot in the door in tech if you are determined to keep on learning.

Bio

I'm a content writer with a focus on the technology sector. Passionate about my day job, I teach tech copywriting to international students after hours.

With a BA and MA from universities in London, I have a knack for researching and communicating unique value propositions of complex B2B solutions. Explaining them requires absorbing and translating technical data to business language – and I love it!

I create content strategies and craft copy in all different formats. My forte lies in explainers, thought-leadership articles, research reports, and long-form educational content. I have worked for open-source communities, startups, software consultancies, and global brands like Microsoft, Dell, or Fujitsu.

Having focused on the tech sector since 2014, I got used to working in agile teams and interviewing technical subject-matter experts. I have completed a certified Kanban Management Professional (KMP I) course and regularly expand skills through programmes such as SurferSEO's Writing Masterclass, Microsoft Social Selling Master, or Hubspot's Content Marketing Academy.
