Session: Counter to the Great Resignation? Being Real with Your Team.

If the pandemic era has taught us anything, it is that it pays to be adaptable. The workforce is continually evolving, meaning that the role of leaders will also need to adapt to engage and convince people to work together to achieve common goals. The only way to effectively invite authenticity for employees at all levels is to model it as a leader, Aircall’s General Manager and Head of North America, Gianna Scorsone, argues. How can leaders create an open path for employees to feel heard and valued, empowered to bring their whole-self to work, and provide meaningful contributions, while preventing burnout and increasing employee retention? In this session, Gianna Scorsone will speak to how leaders who embody empathy, vulnerability, and kindness are key to employee retention and satisfaction in the future of work. Gianna will also cover how the pandemic has presented the opportunity to change antiquated concepts of how businesses operate to reach a new generation of workers – like implementing flexible working arrangements, and encouraging employees to burn their business attire…if they want to.

Key Takeaways

  • How the Shift to Remote Work Ushered in the Era of Authenticity - Free from office formalities, employees quickly traded the old corporate textbook for authentic expression. The companies creating a haven for employee authenticity will be talent champions
  • Two Habits of Highly Effective Leaders - Now more than ever, emotional intelligence and empathy are needed for organizational success.
  • Leaders Should Also Be Vulnerable in the Workplace: We’re all used to managers holding one-on-ones with direct reports to see how they’re doing. Yet, rarely are associates encouraged to check on their leaders.
  • How Kindness Inspires Teams to Outperform - Setting ambitious targets is essential for company growth, but can often lead to toxic work culture with overwork and stress. Committing to instilling an environment of empathy boosts morale and results.
