Session: Diverse Teams Make Inclusive Products
Our backgrounds, perspectives and personal experiences greatly inform how we shape products. Building diverse product teams is the foundation to ensuring we don't unintentionally exclude a portion of our user base, yet most tech products are still built by a very narrow representation of our global population. This session will cover how a multi-pronged approach to creating diverse teams, developing inclusive practices in company culture and in the product development process can result in experiences that support more of our users, most of the time."Key Takeaways

Bio
-Bio: Gülay joined Miro as Head Platform Design in March, 2021 with a mission to democratize the Developer Platform and extend Miro to anyone, anywhere.Prior to Miro, she lead design teams for Facebook's Newsfeed and Identity working with her teams to create experiences that build social value and connection. She also held positions at Google leading teams on Mobile Ads, Search, Identity, Hangouts, with the last 4 of those years on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on cross-platform user experience design and strategy.
Gülay’s passion lies at the cross-section of responsible innovation and service design in all facets of user experience creation. She cares deeply about the consequences of technological advances and works to establish UX as a key player and advocate to society in the end to end product lifecycle.
