Session: Redefining Our Unique Version of “Balance” as Working Moms

The definition of “balance” means an equal distribution of weight. However, being the founder of a highly competitive design agency while exerting equal parts at home, with family, work, children, friends, and relaxation, would be impossible. We simply don’t have enough hours in the day. Many times we shame ourselves for not being enough. We think that if we’re not working, we’re not being good workers. OR if we’re not parenting, we’re being a bad parent. Well, I’d like to offer you a unique perspective. What if we just needed to redefine what “balance” actually meant to us. Within this speech, Hannah will share how you can define your own unique version of “balance” as a working woman.

Key Takeaways

  • The definition of “balance" is unique to every individual
  • Authenticity is the first step towards designing your ideal “balanced” life
  • There’s no right or wrong way to define “balance” (Hannah likes to call out the perfectionist and those who share the highlight reels. Mentioning that it’s okay for that to not be realistic)
