Session: From Impact to Resilience: Sustaining DEI in a Time of Backlash

As DEI initiatives face increased scrutiny and fatigue, many leaders are questioning how to sustain impact over time. This session explores how DEI can move beyond isolated initiatives to become a long-term capability within tech organizations. Drawing on real-world experience, we will discuss how people lead inclusion in practice; connecting DEI to business priorities, addressing resistance, and focusing on outcomes that matter. The session offers practical perspectives for those responsible for advancing inclusion, even in uncertain contexts.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand how the current backlash is affecting DEI work in tech organizations
  • Identify practical ways to respond to resistance without diluting goals
  • Gain realistic perspectives on sustaining DEI impact over time, even in a context of pushback
  • Explore how to connect inclusion efforts to everyday business decisions
