Session: Breaking Boxes and Biases: From Identity to Inclusion

We've been talking about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in companies for 50 years, but the conversation isn’t keeping up with how quickly the world is changing.

So isn't it about time we updated the conversation for our modern world?

In this talk, Kay Fabella shares why our approach to DEI needs to adapt for the future of work — and why we need to reframe our definitions of diversity in ways that resonate with tomorrow's teams.

Kay will challenge us to rethink our ideas of identity through her multi-hyphenate approach to inclusion.

Because building a better world starts with more equitable workplaces that welcome ALL of us.

Key Takeaways

  • Why diversity initiatives must be strategic and intentional as borders and identities blur
  • What your future workforce looks like and why DEI must expand across cultures and intersections
  • How to design for difference, embed empathy, and foster belonging to create innovative global teams

Her approach is turning human stories into data to create new vocabularies for cultural change. Kay has been featured in Forbes and Fast Company, and hosts the 5-star rated DEI podcast, Inclusion in Progress.
