Session: Using Lean to advance DEIA

Lean is typically seen as a tool to help manufacturing operations be more efficient. And it is - but can is be used in spaces outside the shop floor to help advance the goal of diversity, equity, inclusion and allyship. The session will focus on how our Women's Network has used classic lean tools to improve engagement and belonging across our organization.

Key Takeaways

  • Lean is a operating system that can be applied outside the manufacturing shop floor
  • Standard work in the way ERG's operate can make a real difference in belonging and engagement
  • A number of key lean tools to make running ERG's more effective - including Bowlers, standard work for events, BOB/WOW analysis and 5S

I lead a global team of Proposal, Pricing & FinOps professionals at GE Digital responsible for operations from business development through P&L reporting. We help drive deals forward from business development through pricing, proposal and contracting. On the back end, we help the organization evaluate the effectiveness of our operations through P&L reporting, win/loss analysis and cost evaluation. Day to day, our team applies Lean best practices to improve results for internal and external customers.
