Session: The sandwich generation is under digital attack and how we fix what tech missed
Many women today are part of the sandwich generation caring for children while also supporting aging parents, all while working in demanding roles in tech. At the same time, digital threats like scams, grooming, AI-driven fraud, and misinformation are increasingly targeting families across every generation.
This lightning talk looks at why today’s safety tools are fragmented and why responsibility has quietly fallen on caregivers, often women, to manage digital risk across devices, platforms, and age groups. Rather than treating digital safety as a parenting failure or user error, the session reframes it as a design and systems problem.
Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of modern digital threats, where current solutions fall short, and how privacy-first design and education can better protect families without relying on fear or constant surveillance.
