Session: Hacking Team Creativity in the Age of AI
As AI tools become part of everyday software and product development, teams move faster and produce more. With similar tools and workflows everywhere, most teams can ship quickly. When speed becomes easy, it’s tempting to let the tools do more of the thinking, and creativity can slip into autopilot.
In this session, I will share practical ways to keep creativity active while working with AI. Drawing from improv comedy, game design, and patterns found in nature, we will look at techniques teams can actually use. This includes “Yes, And” sessions with AI to extend ideas rather than stopping them early, using constraints deliberately to unlock new directions, and running short, AI-supported prototyping loops to test assumptions and learn quickly.
We will also look at the team habits that support this kind of work. How ideas are discussed, how experiments are evaluated when they fail, and how curiosity can survive day-to-day delivery pressure.
You will leave with a small set of repeatable practices, simple ways to gauge your team’s creative health, and a clearer stance on working with AI. The challenge is not whether AI replaces us, but whether we use it to shrink our thinking or expand what our teams can imagine.
