Session: From Product Development to Engineering: lessons I learned in the transition to energy storage solutions design.

During my time as a Product Developer in the renewable energy sector, I trained myself to keep an eye on customer’s needs, market developments, technology breakthroughs and other external factors considered for developing technologies and creating products customers loved.

In a side-move in my career path, transitioning away from the Tech Development world towards Engineering and Construction of Energy Storage power plants, I was challenged to break with typical iterative and long development cycles, and focus instead on how to solve every day any new challenge brought on the field while increasing quality and reducing delivery times.

In order to align with a new work dynamic, I had to dig in my drawer of creative problem solving tools, to standardize areas of our solutions while keeping a door open for customization.

In this session, I will talk about lessons-learned during this journey.

Key Takeaways

  • How to prepare an action plan
  • It is about the journey. Prepare and enjoy. Do not expect the world to rapidly change
  • Creative problem solving tools
