Bio

Maria Landa have being at Amazon for almost 3 years and had led teams in Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) and currently at Customer Service, Associates Technology and Innovation (ATI).

At AFT Maria managed two teams: Sortation Workcells, which supports very high demand services that make decisions in milli-seconds for multi products orders; and the AFT Labor Planning team, which is responsible of a Labor Planning tool, which allows planning teams across the globe, to plan for labor by using innovative machine learning models that ensures our customer promise and maintains cost efficiency. She is currently managing the AIT dev team, a brand new team, in charge to design, architect, develop, implement and support a brand new Coaching/Performance system using NAWS; and innovate by implementing new Machine learning models to improve Customer Satisfaction.

Previous to Amazon, Maria had her own company and also joined the corporate world leading software development teams for other companies such as Microsoft, Blackberry and implemented Digital transformation at Canadian Tire and Rogers Telecommunications. In her last role she was a Director, managing 4 business units.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Mexico and a post-degree in Global Entrepreneurship and E-commerce from Confederation College, Canada.

In her spare time she likes to read, do yoga, learn new things, movies and spend time with her husband and two kids. We love to do things together as traveling (before COVID), riding bikes in summer and doing some skiing/skating during winter. (We live in Canada so enjoying winter activities is a must :) )

I really like working for Amazon as it keeps me on my toes, the pace that we move here is quite fast compared to the other companies I have worked for.
