Session: How to Make a Successful Transition to Technology

In the current market, where hundreds of thousands of new jobs in technology are being created, career transitions are more common than ever. For women in technology, navigating these transitions is both challenging and rewarding. The workshop "Career Transition Strategy: Set Yourself Up for Success" is designed to empower women in technology with the essential tools and strategies needed to thrive in their career journeys.

During the session, the mentor will guide the participants in creating their own Strategic Career Plan along with an Action Plan. The mentor will help attendees in setting clear and achievable career goals, leveraging their strengths, and identifying areas for skill development. The goal of the workshop is to empower attendees who are making a career transition into technology and do not know where and how to start.

In addition, the career mentor will help participants with a compelling elevator pitch so they can convey a unique value proposition in a concise and impactful manner. Participants will learn to introduce themselves confidently, captivate their audience, and leave a lasting impression on potential employers, colleagues, and mentors.

Networking is a cornerstone of career advancement, and this workshop will emphasize the importance of building and nurturing meaningful professional relationships. Women will acquire actionable networking strategies that can help them expand their reach, access opportunities, and create a supportive network that propels their careers forward.

The ability to manage one's career with intention and confidence is a crucial skill. This workshop will equip women in technology with the strategies and tools necessary to plan, pitch, network, and build a strong support system, ultimately setting them on a path to success in their careers.
