Session: Creating Your Path to Leadership: Lessons from a Technology Leader’s Journey
An advocate for women in technology, Melissa Swisher, co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer at Socrates.ai, will share her path to leadership. Eight years after college, Melissa was still working for the same company, but wasn’t feeling challenged in the ways that fostered growth. She decided to leave the comfort of this position to work for a startup organization, and quickly learned that the sales strategies that had proved successful at an established organization didn’t work in her new environment. Melissa started to doubt herself and realized she had to push through it with resiliency and grit to be an even better, more successful salesperson. While humbling, Melissa will explore the lessons she learned that are the fabric of her success.Today, Melissa strives to make work awesome by leveraging people, processes, and technology to transform the enterprise workplace. Armed with experience and a drive for results, Melissa will offer insights into how women in technology can advance themselves into leadership roles. She will also share advice for breaking barriers and overcoming challenges.

Melissa Swisher is co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer of Socrates.ai, overseeing its growth, go-to-market strategy, partnerships, customer retention, and more. She’s an accomplished executive with two decades of groundbreaking results in the human resources and benefits technology space. Melissa’s expertise includes scaling startup organizations and delivering consistent years of triple-digit growth. In addition to serving as Global Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Aasonn, Melissa was Regional Vice President of Sales at both SuccessFactors and Castlight Health, helping drive these organizations towards IPO. Before SuccessFactors, Melissa spent nearly a decade at ADP in multiple sales leadership roles.
