Session: Why You Should Never Treat People The Way You Expect To Be Treated : What Makes Tech People Tick

I'm sure you have heard the advice "treat people the way you expect to be treated"?

In this session, you will learn that that is not always the case (and of course, common courtesy always applies).

In the first part of the session, we will take a look at the foundations of personality, then we will go through how to identify your own personality and this will help you to understand how others operate too.

This will help you to understand why you get asked certain questions in an interview, why micro-management occurs, frustration with others in presentations and communication styles, why some people are always late, why some people like doing the same thing all the time while others like doing something different.

The best bit about this is that it is not just useful for your career, you can use it at home too!

Key Takeaways

  • Learn your own internal programming
  • Learn how to find out how other people are programmed
  • Understand how conflicts can arise without knowing this

Bio

Hey, I’m Michelle. I’m the Founder of The Tech Leader Network.

After 20+ years heading up IT departments internationally, my mission is to improve the mental and emotional wellness of 350,000 Tech professionals by 2032 and to stop Tech leaders being setup for failure - whether that is where they are promoted and left to get on and struggle, or whether they are going through a crucial moment in time where they need to bounce ideas, get advice or even improve their own emotional intelligence levels.

I'm passionate about women in tech, which certainly helps, as I have a 14 year old daughter who wants to be a robotics designer and engineer!

Apart from that, I love technology, learning, innovation, coffee, Marvel movies, and anything that will make me laugh!
