Session: How to Write the Perfect Tech Talk Submission (With or Without AI)

Speaking at a major tech conference can be career-changing, yet even brilliant ideas often get rejected before they’re ever heard. Why? Because many speakers focus on perfecting their presentation while overlooking the real gatekeeper: the CFP (Call for Papers) submission.

Writing a strong CFP is both an art and a skill: persuasive but not salesy, technical yet accessible, and aligned with what organizers and audiences truly value. And for many engineers and tech leaders, that kind of storytelling doesn’t come naturally.
After reviewing and editing hundreds of CFPs, I’ve developed a framework that’s helped dozens of speakers get accepted to leading conferences worldwide, long before AI tools came along. In this workshop, you’ll learn that framework, craft your own CFP, and receive feedback from both me and your peers. You’ll also see how AI can enhance your submission process, if you use it wisely. Otherwise, reviewers will see right through it and move on to the next candidate.

Key Takeaways

  • Craft a standout title, abstract, and bio
  • Find and target the right CFPs
  • Maximize your acceptance chances
  • Define your talk’s true value
  • Leverage AI tools wisely in your submission

Bio

Moran Weber is an entrepreneur, speaker, and the Founder of Women on Stage, a public speaking training platform amplifying women’s voices and helping tech professionals share their expertise with confidence. Formerly a Tech Lead at Wix, she has over a decade of experience in software development and holds an MA in Social Psychology, along with a BSc in Computer Science and Psychology.

A former software engineer who once struggled with stage fright and impostor syndrome, Moran turned her biggest fear into her life’s mission: stepping onto countless stages, organizing dozens of tech events, building communities, and training hundreds of engineers to find their voice, driven by her belief that everyone has a story worth telling.

She’s now building products that help professionals become impactful speakers, combining her technical background with deep psychological insight to help tech leaders turn complex ideas into clear, compelling stories that inspire audiences and create lasting impact.
