Session: The Executive Woman: Embracing Motherhood in the C-Suite

Being a mother is one of the most gratifying and demanding occupations in the world. As a result, moms have some of the most in-demand soft skills, such as leadership, problem-solving creativity, innovation, communication, active listening, time management, and emotional intelligence which are skills highly needed to succeed in the C-suite.
Every mother I know, including myself with 4 children, has taken on projects like organizing house moves, turning unknown or new ingredients into delicious and healthy meals, managing varying schedules, meeting deadlines, managing other peoples’ emotions as well as their own emotions and personal life.
Fulfilling your role as a mom at home and as an executive at work is very important but a mom will neither thrive in these roles if she is not her best self. It is often said and believed that one can’t give what they don’t have. it is impossible to pour from an empty cup, hence, this talk/session is geared towards empowering working moms to prioritize self-care and individuality above everything else, even your family and job. Focusing on improving one’s health and wellbeing helps the mom to be in a better state of mind to leverage the support available to her from friends, family, the workplace in other to perform more effectively and productively on the home front and within the workplace. This session will highlight ways moms can lead from the C-suite without guilt and learn how to accept and manage challenges and obstacles that come with being an executive mom.
