Session: CISOs on a Shoestring Budget : Doing More with Less

Cyber threats don’t shrink when budgets do. For many CISOs, especially in the post-secondary sector, the challenge is clear: how do you build and maintain a strong security posture with limited funding and resources?

Here I will break down down how to lead security efforts with agility, creativity, and impact — even when budgets are tight.

This session will explore:

Bio

Priya is an award winning and globally accomplished Cybersecurity and Risk Management Executive with over 20 years of demonstrated experience supporting organizations of varying sizes and risk profiles across industries. She is currently the Information Security Officer at Sheridan College where besides securing information and technology resources, she is responsible for privacy, compliance and enabling digital resiliency. She also has extensive experience advising and supporting global Financial Services including some of the largest and most prominent names in Toronto, New York and Technology companies in California. She has a commendable history of both collaborating with Senior Leadership and the Boards of large global companies to formulate robust and agile cyber / risk strategies, and working with the operational teams to implement them, and building trusted relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
As a recognized leader in the space, she has both published articles and is invited to share insights at global summits / conferences including ISACA, ISC2, BlackHat among others. Priya’s global exposure working in the US, UK, Canada, China, India for multinational organizations equips her with a global mindset and the ability to work and communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds and disciplines, being empathetic & adaptable.
