Session: Inspiring a Relatable Workplace

The Coronavirus changed nearly everything about the way we relate to one another at home and at work, exchanging hugs for elbow bumps, smiles for masks, and groups for solitude. One area that’s likely changed for good is the workplace, with millions of employees working from home in 2020 and beyond at least part-time. Google has extended its hybrid workplace model until September 2021, and Facebook has announced plans for nearly half of its employees to work remotely in the next decade.

As companies embrace work-at-home options, the workplace is changing, with hybrid in-office/at-home work options now becoming the norm. As a result, your employees may not return “back to normal” for some time—if ever. And that requires a different set of relatability skills than the traditional office space.

In this 40-minute keynote, relationship expert Rachel DeAlto and author of “relatable: How to Connect with Anyone Anywhere (Even if It Scares You)” (Simon & Schuster’s Tiller Press, Fall 2021) will prepare your teams for the post-Covid workplace by leading your organization through the Four Stages of a Relatable Workplace.

Key Takeaways

  • -Validate your team’s 2020 personal experiences and create a positive shift in their professional lives for the years to come
  • -Provide tools to nurture employee relationships virtually
  • -Refresh interpersonal skills and reduce social anxiety
  • -Create a plan for reintegration among your teams and a playbook for leaders
