Session: If the answer is <Increasing Productivity>, what is the question?

Do leaders ask the right questions about productivity in the Information or Knowledge Industry? Right questions are the key to unlocking your business's productivity flow while creating sustainable performance.

Recent business news headlines have been dominated by reports of declining productivity, often resulting in drastic measures such as layoffs or financial warnings. Taking a closer look, it doesn't make sense since, viewed as a process, productivity issues should not exist. Most of the steps in any business delivery productivity journey have been digitized. Significant investments have been made in digital transformation, automation, or application development in the last few years, aiming to boost productivity while designing new working methods.

So, why haven't we seen significant productivity improvements?

Many leaders equate productivity with achieving more of the same outcomes with the same or fewer resources. They tend to use productivity and performance interchangeably. In most businesses, people represent "capacity", not assets. These leaders concentrate on the delivery process but fail to ask themselves what "specific ingredients" make up the productivity process in their particular environment, making people highly performant. They got correct answers to the productivity questions they asked, though they weren't the right answers for their sustainable business performance.

While our current world is characterized by uncertainty, productivity is not. The future of work has distinct "ingredients" that shape productivity narratives. What productivity narratives are you playing in your business?

Join Rux Dariescu to discover the significance of asking the right questions to reshape business narratives about productivity.
