Session: How to help Non-Techie Women to succeed in a Tech company?

Technology was once a very male-dominated industry and continues to be a very fast-paced environment. But that doesn’t mean non-technical people can’t enjoy a successful career in a tech company; and that, of course, includes women. The feminine qualities we possess are a big part of a company’s success.

Supporting women in tech, particularly those who don’t have a tech background, is what Sandrine Pons has strived to achieve during her years working as a leader at SAP. That work continues. Sandrine is the leader of a team with 15+ nationalities, from different generations. Throughout her 15-year career at SAP, she has helped many women to grow and shine, empowering them to achieve promotions as leaders and managers.
This talk will provide leaders with real-world advice on how to mentor their female, non-techie team members to build a successful career in tech, as well guidance on how to ensure harmony within a team with members who have a diversity of backgrounds.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand the value of non-tech women-this should never be underestimated
  • Create a flexible working environment and provide the right mentorship
  • Encourage them to take the challenge and be ready to thrive
  • The power of difference makes all the difference
