Session: Rewire: Building a Tech Career That Energizes You

Technology evolves by the minute, and with it, the demands of our industry. In a landscape of fierce competition, shifting requirements, and endless possibilities, how do you discern what's truly right for you? How do you recognize and pursue opportunities that don't just advance your career, but genuinely fulfill you?

The pressure to keep up can be paralyzing. We're told to stay current, stay competitive, stay relevant—but what if the real challenge isn't keeping pace with change, but learning to navigate it with intention? What if the key to thriving isn't resisting pivots, but embracing them strategically?

In this session, I'll share my journey through career transitions—changing industries, stepping into unfamiliar roles, and choosing growth over comfort. We'll explore how to balance ambition with security, how to spot opportunities that align with what energizes you (not just what looks good on paper), and how to build the resilience needed to make bold moves in an uncertain world.

Whether you're considering a pivot, navigating reentry, or simply questioning your next step, this conversation is designed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. Because in a world of constant change, your ability to adapt with purpose isn't just an advantage—it's essential.

Key Takeaways

  • Recognizing what energizes you
  • How to find resources and community in your field
  • Preparation for change
  • Changing mindset from "What if" to "So what"
