Session: Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling: Empowering the Future of Asian Women in Tech Finance
For Asian women in finance, breaking through the "Bamboo Ceiling" in a traditionally male-dominated field has required tenacity, creativity, and empowerment. I have managed the complex dynamics of taking businesses public, guiding them through privatization, and obtaining crucial seed start-up to scale-up funding to support innovative and disruptive tech companies for more than ten years, with experience in investor relations, IPOs, LBOs, and venture capital raises.
I will talk about the highs and lows of my journey to leadership, the tactics I used to get past gender and cultural biases, and the lessons I learned from establishing credibility with investors in international markets. From enlisting early-stage investors to presenting innovative startups, I will share my perspectives on how Asian women can transform the financial industry and dismantle obstacles for the coming generation.
We will work together to determine how to use cultural heritage to our advantage, transform obstacles into opportunities, and create a more empowered and inclusive future for women in the tech finance sector.
