Session: How to build your own journey to succeed in tech

Building a career in technology is not always easy, and even less when you do not have complete technical background. And you are a woman. And you are young.

In this presentation I will talk about my learnings in my tech journey, how I became DevOps Engineer at 23, how I have coped with being a young Mexican woman in this STEM world that is mainly ruled by white men, how I have overcome obstacles and ignored stereotypes and how you can do it too with some tips and advice to make your career path easier.

Key Takeaways

  • Tips to start a career in tech
  • The importance of networking
  • Overcoming obstacles in our own journey
  • How to dive into the DevOps world

Bio

Bionics Engineer (since June 2021) from National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico. Currently a Cloud and DevOps Engineer (since march 2021) at Improving Nearshore. Also widely interested in Artificial Intelligence, which is why I'm WaiTALK Lead at Women in AI Mexico organization. Used to be core team of the Google Developer Student Club and Board of Directors at IEEE Women in Engineering. I'm a STEMinist, so I always do my best to inspire other girls and women in STEM and try to increase our presence in these areas.
