Session: From Roadblocks to Roadmaps: Women's Inspiring Tech & Auto Trajectories

The career path in tech or the automotive industry isn’t always straight up the ladder, sometimes it means saying yes to lateral or unexpected opportunities. This session will showcase two women with fascinating professional and personal journeys that led them to their current technology roles at Cox Automotive. The panelists will dig into the value of taking risks in your career, thinking outside the box, and leaning on your strengths, passions, and goals to find the right role.

Key Takeaways

  • Uncertainty in your career goals and interests as you begin your professional path is OK! Not everyone knows exactly what they want to do for the entirety of their career when they get started.
  • There will be highs and lows with every role. Gathering experience, learning new skills, building relationships – these things are key to developing professionally and will help you find a role that could be the perfect fit.
  • Your degree doesn't have to define your career path. Take advantage of opportunities to learn more in and out of your work environment. Explore certifications in new areas to provide the foundational knowledge needed to pivot into a new role and excel.
