Session: From Automation to Agentic AI: What Leaders Need to Rethink Now

We are moving beyond automation as efficiency, and into a world where AI agents can act, decide, and operate across entire workflows. For leaders, this is not a technology shift. It is a leadership shift. In this fireside chat, Cameron Wall and Korusha Pillay explore unpack what this means for senior leaders: where value will actually be created, why most current operating models will break, and how to avoid scaling inefficiencies. They will challenge leaders to rethink what it means to lead in a world where humans are no longer the only “doers” in the system. This is a conversation about moving from control to orchestration, and why the organisations that get this right will define the next decade.

Key Takeaways

  • How trust becomes the biggest barrier to scale, not technology
  • How to create space for experimentation without losing accountability
  • The role of leadership in setting guardrails without slowing innovation
  • The difference between optimising processe
  • How to identify the right use cases (hint: not your biggest pain points), What capabilities leaders need to build

Bio

Cameron Wall
Cameron is the EY Global Consulting AI and Data Competency Leader, guiding how organizations harness data, artificial intelligence (AI) and technology to redefine what's possible.

With over 30 years of experience across Australia, the UK, Switzerland and across Asia, he has worked at the intersection of strategy, innovation and execution - helping clients in finance, telecommunications, retail and the public sector unlock transformative, sustainable outcomes.

Cameron leads a global team of 11,000+ professionals building AI and data-powered solutions that enable sustainable transformation with faster, smarter decisions at every level of the enterprise.

He was the co-founder of a data analytics firm – now the global EY organization's 2,000-strong AI and data team in Asia-Pacific.

“I’ve spent my entire career working with clients to help determine how they can best leverage data and analytics technology, delivering the business outcomes they require.

EY teams have built EY Data and Analytics on this one premise, in order to use information management and business intelligence in articulating and converting EY clients’ business strategies into measurable results.

What I’m most passionate about is turning an information management vision into a reality by deploying strategies, goals and tactics that use the information to improve performance in some way.”

Korusha Pillay
I believe technology should make work and life, better for people.

As a Director at EY, I help organisations unlock the potential of AI and automation to create real public value. Over the past decade, I’ve led transformations across government, infrastructure, and social services building bridges between technology, leadership, and human impact.

My work sits at the intersection of AI strategy, responsible adoption, and inclusive innovation, ensuring that when we deploy AI, we do so ethically, transparently, and at scale.

Beyond projects, I’m passionate about helping women and underrepresented leaders build confidence in using AI, and I regularly speak on how we can shape the future with confidence, together.
