Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Payments (PRESTO) Office is seeking a Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).  As Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering of the Solutions Architecture team in the Payments division, you will have overall accountability for site reliability engineering, architecture, and roadmap of the Payments ecosystem with a major focus on SRE capabilities and maturity. You will play a pivotal role in leading cross-platform and cross-functional integration, resiliency and observability capabilities and ITSM architecture in multi-vendor environments.  

What will I be doing?

• Leads, defines, and monitors strategy for new architecture technologies in yearly operating plan and performance objectives to monitor for quality and service excellence.  

• Acts as a solutions architect subject matter expert; advises the Director and Senior Management staff on planning and continuous improvements, increasing lean-agile thinking, reducing risks and supporting operational efficiency and effectiveness.

• Develops, evaluates, and matures the architecture and roadmap for Payments capabilities, monitoring/logging/observability, and system integration including ITSM.

• Ensures solutions architecture’s compliance with industry regulations and standards such as PCI DSS.

• Develops and implements risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's interests.

• Provides oversight to vendors/service providers; creates and maintains strong relationships and validates that contracts related to the technology portfolio meet performance and financial targets.

• Consults, informs and aligns with business and technology stakeholders. Provides input into the product roadmaps and technology plans, ensuring alignment of plans and schedules with system integration plans and schedules.

• Participates and conducts technology deep dives, creates technical and architectural diagrams and documentation for the respective technologies’ portfolio.

• Collaborates with the Payments Operations team to support incident and problem management. Additionally, participates in post-incident reviews in coordination with business partners and various teams,  

• Bridges the gap between business and technology and communicates related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Define, track, and refine relevant KPIs for the team in alignment with departmental and organizational goals and priorities.

• Works closely with project contractors/consultants to set standards/expectations and facilitate feedback structures associated with performance  

• Develops and manages annual and long-term budgets and departmental/project staffing plans that adhere to corporate standards and applicable legislation and meet service delivery objectives.

• Provides approval/sign-off on procurement strategies, project work, cost estimates, design studies/plans prepared by internal staff/consultants; negotiates contractual obligations and amendments with vendors.

• Manages resources on a project bases across all projects including third party consultants.
