Job Description: 
We are seeking Sr. Staff Level Data Center Site Reliability Engineer with a strong network engineering background and substantial experience in data center designs, infrastructure, and platform engineering support. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of data power, advanced cooling technologies, and colocation space capacity planning and management. The individual must have proven experience in driving data center deployments and executing business growth strategies. A strong background in automation and security is highly desirable. In this role, the engineer will help define and drive business-level strategies, take the lead in driving data center design changes, and innovate for improved scaling, performance, efficiency, and support optimization. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal system reliability and performance. 
  • Utilize network engineering expertise to optimize data center designs. 
  • Manage data center power, advanced cooling technologies, and colocation space capacity planning and management. 
  • Lead data center deployments and execute business growth strategies. 
  • Implement automation strategies to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention. 
  • Enhance system security, implementing best practices to safeguard data and infrastructure. 
  • Monitor system performance and availability, implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime. 
  • Establish and publish useful KPIs and reports for performance and service metrics.  
  • Respond promptly to system incidents, leading recovery efforts and root cause analysis. 
  • Help define and drive business-level strategies. 
  • Take the lead in driving data center design changes and innovation for improved operations scaling, performance, efficiency, and support optimization. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet business requirements. 
  • Establish processes for conducting regular system audits to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations. 
  • Coordinate, schedule, and lead all aspects of maintenance performed by vendors. 
  • Build cross-functional relationships and can influence policies and procedures to improve regional/global data center operations. 
  • Collaborate with partners and vendors to help resolve complex technical issues that affect Synopsys computing infrastructure. 
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 
  • Extensive experience in network engineering and data center design and operations 
  • Deep understanding of data center power, advanced cooling technologies, and capacity planning for data centers 
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. 
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V. 
  • Proficient in Linux/Unix operating systems, server hardware, and troubleshooting
  • Proven leadership skills, experience in managing diverse teams, and ability to foster a high-performance culture. 
  • Solid understanding of data center support and logistics management. 
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with proven ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly express complex technical concepts. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without direct authority. 
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in defining and driving business-level strategies. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in data center operations, particularly in the EDA industry. 
  • Knowledge of network security measures and protocols. 
  • Experience managing and coordinating the planning and implementation of data center services. 
  • Demonstrated experience in site selection, budget planning, RFP's, space planning, and power allocation. 
  • Experience managing vendor contracts, renewals and conducting QBRs. 
  • Familiarity with data center tools like DCIM, Power Monitoring and electrical/mechanical equipment. 
  • Network or data center related certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or CDCMP are a plus. 

 
Advanced qualification: (What will set you apart) 
 

  • In-depth understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V. 
  • Previous work with auditors to meet compliance requirements like ISO/SOC/SOX. 
  • Certified in cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform 
  • Proficient with Linux and system level administration 
  • Good understanding of NAS with NetApp and other storage technologies
