As a Staff Applications Engineer, you will be working with our foundry team deploying new technology nodes for leading-edge customers. Your role will be critical as each technology node introduces new, complex layout design rules and other process nuances that impact the entire physical design implementation flow. You will work closely with a customer on understanding their node migration challenges, co-develop support with foundry and R&D, and test and improve end-to-end flows and algorithms to meet power/perf/area/runtime targets for the customer’s specific designs. You will be expected to analyze, debug and solve in-depth technical issues related to technology files, implementation methodologies, and flows.
 
Requirements
•    BS in EE/CS with 7+ years of relevant experience, MS with 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting advanced design implementation methodologies.
•    Experienced physical designer with several years of EDA product development/deployment, full-flow benchmarking, and design tape-out experience.
•    Hands-on familiarity with Synopsys and/or 3rd party tools including RTL/Physical Synthesis, Place & Route, and signoff products.
•    Solid scripting skills.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly narrow down and summarize findings.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas persuasively to cross-functional team members, management, and customers.
•    Ability to multitask and partner across functional and global team environments.
