In-Person Event

Berlin, Germany

As part of the Women in Tech Global Conference 2026, WomenTech Network is co-hosting its flagship in-person Connect & Career Networking Event in Berlin.

What do knitting patterns and software programs have in common – and what can that teach us about building reliable systems in the age of AI? This in-person meetup brings together two short talks that connect creativity, craft, and engineering fundamentals.

We’ll start with “Knit 1, Perl 1”, a playful exploration of how knitting and programming intertwine: exploring the algorithms and pioneering women behind them, and a revolution that catapulted us into the future.

From there, we’ll shift to the very modern challenge of AI-assisted development with “Verification Problem” – arguing that as code generation becomes cheap, confidence becomes the bottleneck. We’ll revisit “boring” but powerful tools like semantic types, TDD, and mutation testing, and show how they can make AI coding faster and safer.

Expect practical takeaways, good conversation, and plenty of nerdy joy.
