Chief in Tech Book Launch Party: Empowering Women to Lead, Rise & Belong in Tech
Chief in Tech Book Launch Party Highlights

It started with a dream — the kind that sits quietly in the back of your mind, waiting for the right moment to speak louder.

On a vibrant evening filled with anticipation and community spirit, WomenTech Network hosted the virtual launch party of Chief in Tech — a powerful new book by Founder & Global CEO Anna Radulovski. The event brought together tech leaders, allies, and aspiring changemakers from across the globe for a dynamic conversation about visibility, leadership, and breaking through the silicon ceiling. What began as a celebration of a long-awaited book turned into a bold call to action: to reimagine what leadership looks like in tech, and to uplift the stories and strategies of women driving that transformation.

    From Vision to Reality

The idea for Chief in Tech didn’t come from a boardroom. It came from conversations — in chat messages after summits, in the quiet moments backstage, and in late-night DMs between women wondering if they were alone in their struggles.

The message was consistent: too many brilliant women in tech were hitting invisible barriers. Too many were questioning their place in a space they were helping build. Leadership books rarely spoke to their lived experiences. And Anna knew that needed to change.

The book took 10 months, over 50 interviews with executive women leaders, and was written in between global conferences, mentoring sessions, and managing the day-to-day of leading WomenTech Network. “One of the hardest parts,” she shared, “was putting my own voice on the page.”

An Evening of Power and Presence

The launch party included more than a behind-the-scenes look at the book. It featured a deeply moving reading session, where Anna read selected excerpts from key chapters like:

    • Building and Growing Your Network

    • Negotiating Powerfully for Your Worth

    • Joining Boards, Making an Impact, and Leaving a Legacy

Each passage sparked a wave of reflection and resonance among attendees. Anna’s words — “Tech needs leaders like you” — became more than a quote.

The chat was flooded with comments like “This hit home,”“Exactly what I needed to hear,” and “I feel seen.”

Women Breaking the Silicon Ceiling: A Panel to Remember

At the heart of the launch was a remarkable panel discussion titled Women Breaking the Silicon Ceiling and Making an Impact. Featuring a lineup of accomplished tech leaders, the conversation offered rare honesty and profound insight.

    Panelists:

The conversation moved beyond titles and success stories. It went into the trenches — discussing the cost of leadership, the pain of being underestimated, and the power of embracing authenticity.

“The best person for the job may not be the one who fits the historical profile — it’s time to change the default and open the door to those ready to show up and make a difference.”Deborah Corwin Scott, Former CIO at Harvard Medical School

“Too often, leadership potential is defined by how well someone mirrors the dominant culture — usually male, white, and extroverted — and that excludes so many talented women and people of color.”Elaine Montilla, Founder of 5xminority, former CTO at Pearson

“You’ll have women saying, ‘I don’t have this, I don’t have that,’ and men saying, ‘I haven’t done it, but I know I can’ — we want a level playing field for everyone.”Grace Pérez, Former Chief Digital Program Officer at GE HealthCare

“We want to see you stretch yourself — believe in yourself, go for it, and try roles that push you beyond your comfort zone.”Janet Robertson, Global Chief Information Officer at RS Group plc

“Many people opt out before they’ve even had the chance to explore — we need to inspire the next generation to envision a future in tech before they close the door on it.”Kathryn Guarini, Senior Fellow at Yale University; Director at Regeneron; former CIO at IBM

“As leaders, the worst mistake we can make is assuming we know what people want — the best thing we can do is ask: What do you want? How can I best nurture you?”Reetal Pai, EVP & CIO at Teichert

As Anna said: “Whether you’re just starting or you're already leading, this book is for you. Because the future of tech isn’t built by algorithms — it’s built by people. And we need more people like you.”
