Ana realized early on that her role as a technical writer involved many skills transferable to developer advocacy, such as empathy for users and effective communication. She took initiative by learning coding and participating in hackathons, which helped build technical confidence. Combined with her writing, this allowed her to advocate convincingly for the developer experience, inspiring her company to support her move into DevRel.
