Session: Redesigning the Playing Field for Real Results

Despite lots of talk and well-intentioned activity, our current approaches to creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive companies have not translated into real, measurable results. In this thought-provoking keynote, Siri will share why that is and offer an evidence-based blueprint for the way forward so that we can focus our efforts on what works to create more equitable workplaces.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand why current DEI approaches are not working
  • Discover evidence-based, data-driven strategies to create more inclusive workplaces

Bio

Siri Chilazi is a researcher at the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School whose life’s work is to advance gender equality and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. She operates at the intersection of academia and practice, both conducting research on how organizations can become more inclusive, and bringing those research insights to practitioners through speaking, training, and workshops. As an advisor and scholar, Siri frequently collaborates with organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies and leading professional service firms in order to close equity gaps. She has presented at numerous conferences around the world, and her work has appeared in media outlets including Harvard Business Review, The New York Times, BBC, Fast Company, and Forbes. She is the coauthor, with Iris Bohnet, of the forthcoming book Make Work Fair: Data-Driven Design for Real Results (HarperCollins, 2025). Siri has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard College.
