We’re looking for an Applications Engineer to join the team.

  • In this role, you’d provide technical and engineering insight and direction to support and improve usability, applicability, and adoption of products, platforms, and solutions to meet customer business needs. 

  • You’d diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues on customer installations—plus you’d deploy and train customers on new implementations and capabilities. 

  • You’d review and analyze feedback on product and solutions performance from customers and other application partners, working directly with Research and Development (R&D) to develop and implement technical roadmaps, specifications, and validation for improvements and enhancements. 

  • As a partner with customer technical leaders and sales, you’d identify business challenges, develop effective technical solutions for new accounts, and increase utilization and retention of products on current accounts. Enable relevant and advanced methodologies to meet customer goals; leveraging the best-in-class features of Synopsys tools.  

Job Description: 
  

This Signoff Applications Engineer position will be focusing on supporting Synopsys transistor level (Tx-level) timing analysis platform and formal functional equivalent solutions and business growth in areas of Tx timing, and custom design behavior equivalent check. This position is responsible for: 

  • Timely identification and resolution of customer business requirements with little guidance. Provide end-to-end technical support to customers. 

  • Supporting and partnering with Sales and customer top people to identify business challenges and opportunities and develop strategic solutions for business success, increasing utilization, and retention of Synopsys products. 

  • Working directly with customers to gain a full understanding of their issues and expectations from the competitive climate. Helping customers resolve critical technical issues and boost productivity with Synopsys’s advanced technologies and solutions. 

  • Proactively contributing to the corporation in areas of tool improvement and leveraged support, presenting product-specific technical training, and promoting activities to customers. 

  • Collaborating and communicating with the global R&D groups independently for customer feedback on Synopsys solution enhancement, development, and implementation on the technical roadmap, specifications, and deployments. 

  • Business travel will be required for this position. 

 

 

Requirements: 
 

  • BS in EE/CS/Semiconductor with 7+ years, or Master in EE/CS/Semiconductor or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience. 

  • Solid knowledge of static timing concepts and engineering fundamentals. 

  • Exceptional expertise in transistor-level design to debug circuit level issues. Good capabilities in establishing functional simulation of memory cell/register-file/standard cell SPICE netlist and debugging unexpected functional behavior. Good understanding of Verilog/SystemVerilog functional models and simulation flow. 

  • Good capabilities in script programming including Tcl, Perl, Python, or other popular scripting languages. 

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation/communication in global collaboration skills are mandatory. 

  • Excellent teamwork spirit, leadership, customer sensitivity, the ability to multiplex many issues & set priorities and have a helpful/caring attitude towards customers, and the desire to help customers exploit new technologies are essential for success in the position. 

 

Plus+ 

  • Transistor-based STA and formal equivalence experience. NanoTime/ESP experience is highly desirable. 

  • Experience in advanced technology nodes signoff is preferred.
