Project Engineer

Synopsys is looking for an adaptable, passionate, and resourceful Project Engineer with high standards. A reputation for “getting the job done” and who is a driven, independent, and creative engineer committed to achieving high quality results in a team environment.  The position is for a Mixed-Signal Intellectual Property (MSIP) Project Engineer whose mandate is to oversee the release/customer delivery (New Product Introduction) of multiple MSIP projects and assist in other project management related tasks.

Leading an MSIP project includes, and may not be limited to, working with R&D teams to release new developments including updates and enhancements to existing products; tracking status of the products in the release queue; helping to debug QA issues to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills - Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely responses to a hardware release issue.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that hardware releases are of high quality and meet the needs of the business.
  • Good negotiation skills.  When conflicts arise, due to differences in opinion, willingness to settle the issue while maintaining harmony in the team.
  • Quick learner with the ability to ramp up on new tools and processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to decide, based on multiple data sources.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

 
Requirements:

  • Requires a degree in Engineering or Applied Science (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and administration
  • Familiarity with SOC, ASIC, or other semiconductor development environment is an asset
  • Ability to use and/or knowledge of standard project management tools
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in adhering to quality management system processes and procedures considered an asset
  • Automation experiences in scripting language: UNIX shell scripts, TCL, Perl, Python is considered an asset
  • Ability to navigate, manipulate files and use tools in a Linux environment are considered an asset
