Job Description

The technical writer hired for this position will develop and maintain documentation for EDA products used by a highly technical audience, including chip designers and scientists. Responsibilities include:

  • Working on one or more products with product teams located across the globe.
  • Planning work independently in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Creating grammatically accurate documentation that is also in perfect alignment with the style guide, templates, and processes.
  • Working hands-on on the products being supported and doing the research required to truly understand the domain, technology, and features being documented.
  • Participate in and contribute to technical publications initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 4 to 18 years of technical writing experience in a software product development company.

Required Skills

  • Good understanding of technical writing principles and processes.
  • Ability and inclination to grasp new technology quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and address them using suitable documentation strategies.
  • Experience working independently, as part of a team, and with overseas development teams; experience communicating with non-native English speakers.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, flexibility to reprioritize on short notice, and ability to foster teamwork. 

Desired Skills

  • Experience with DITA and Topic-based authoring.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
  • Experience with electronic design automation (EDA) tools.


Other Details

  • Writing samples are required.
  • Shortlisted candidates will need to take a writing test.
